D&D 4th Edition, H Series, Online Game

Morning.

Yes TS was like pulling teeth but would not have been so bad had TS3 install not messed up my setting.

Yes, the party warlord also uses a crossbow.

I was using maptools again.

I have completed 2 encounter maps and the dungeon level one....its going faster than I thought it would.

Personally....if we get the mic problem taken care of for those who need...we are about ready to start.

I believe friday will be our day.....I am sorry Taren....like I said ....check for a new game thread in a week or so for D20 Saga Edition Star Wars.
It will be worth your while!
(The good part being all this mapping and mic consideration stuff will be old hat by then.)

I will be in thread for now.....prompt responces should be forth coming....

Fridays at 4pm+ seems like our time people!
Any last minute point that needs to be brought to order may be done now.

Peace & Light

(Bigtime thanks to Ftr and Zardoz for helping with the "acclimation" period...it wouldn't have happened without you two!)

Here's what I'm trying to figure out...

I am a devoted cleric so I am a back row type of spell caster. My sats limit my melee effectiveness and as a healer I really cant afford to get clobbered early in the battle. BUT, I do have reasonable powerful ranged attacks and utility spells.

What I'm trying to figure out is if the situation calls for it, who, besides me, is a drop back support unit at range? Which of you is just as effective in the back row as the front...without sacrificing our front row effectiveness.

I can foresee a combat situation where we have a melee mob engaging and tying up our tanks while I am left alone to deal with archers or spell casters. So..does anyone else have any capabilities to help deal with that?

AS far as I know we have a cross-in-a-can, a meat shield, a healer , a knife, and an NPC (who may or may not contribute much depending on the workload of the DM). I see a problem with ranged attackers. Do any of you warriors have missile weapon proficiencies? The rogue has xbow which is great, but it would be better if we all had a kick-in-the-door-with-one-shot-missile-attack, then the frontliners could drop the weapon and wade in with swords and axes, the rogue can flank, and I can support via ranged attacks and healing.

what do you think on this issue =, guys?

Im trying to get us to the point that, if we get some lucky rolls, we can take out a spellcaster or ranged attacker in the surprise round or first round of combat and deal with the mobs at leisure.

So warlord and rogue have xbows..excellent

Morning, Ery!

Why don't you set up a dimdim room so we can mic chat about our progress..I playe with maptool late last night and learned a lot.

In addition to you...we have 2 crossbowmen to offset our 2 "tanks"

We should be okay in ranged engagements.

The Warlord is only a nominal fighter but should be able to hold his own.

With a low AC like yours....the rear with the gear is where you'll probably be!

We are settled then.....

We have decided upon friday for gaming.....4ish on....we will meet in either dimdim or maptools server (both of which will be up about an hour before each game)

Test fight tonight.

(My mic is fixed and jim finally found the mute button on his mic so we are set)

Peace & Light

Have fun all - looks like it will be a fun game.

I am interested in the SWSaga game Eryiedes. I have all the books for it and have played in a campaign on a couple of different occasions.

Please let me know.

thanks,

Taren

I certainly will.....about a week and you will see the thread go up.
I don't imagine it will begin in ernest until I get my new computer in 12 days.

It will not be a store bought module....all original material that is set in the year 1BBY....and if you have 3e future D20...you will be able to use the TSR star frontiers races as well.

This era is know as The (end of the) Dark Times....set to occur almost simulataneously with the destruction of Alderaan.

I will keep an eye out for you and of course...we will still be here if you have questions or can join afterall.

(With permission, we will use your character as an NPC)

Peace & Light (d20)
