The effigy left off chiding Liliana and turned its attention fully on Shard. Maybe the strange gew-gaw woman was right. Maybe he
did need to speak his life to her. Without really knowing what he was doing, he approached Shard, came right up to hover in front of her, looked her dead in the eye. And attempted to supplant his life's experiences for her own, trying to make her see his point of view, if only for a moment.[/section]
[sblock=OOC]I've been waiting to try out Infusion, which is Picayune's version of
magic jar. Pic is Bard 3, with Charisma 15. I believe the Charisma DC is
15 12. From the stat block for Infusion on Pic's character sheet:
[sblock=Infusion]One living creature that the effigy can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be possessed by the effigy. The effigy can use Infusion a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You must complete a long rest before you can do so again.
The effigy then disappears, and the target is incapacitated and loses control of its body. The effigy now controls the body but doesn't deprive the target of awareness. The effigy can't be targeted by any attack, spell, or other effect, except ones that turn undead, and it retains its alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, and immunity to being charmed or frightened. It otherwise uses the possessed target's statistics, but doesn't gain access to the target's knowledge, class features, or proficiencies.
The possession lasts until the body drops to 0 hit points, the effigy ends it as a bonus action, or the effigy is forced out by an effect like the dispel evil and good spell. When the possession ends, the effigy reappears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the body. The target is immune to this effigy’s Infusion for 24 hours after succeeding on the saving throw or after the possession ends.[/sblock]
What I intend with this "casting" of Infusion is sort of a non-hostile takeover of Shard's physical form for a few moments. If she were an enemy on the battlefield, Picayune would use Infusion to harm her, but that's not his intent here. He wants to: 1) share with her who he is; and 2) make the point that he's not to be f'd with. He's tired, he's cranky, and he wants to be known. Pretty much, the same goals we've seen Shard evince for herself.

Love you, Shayuri. I'm ducking now.[/sblock]
