D&D 5E D&D Celebration Schedule

From September 23-26, the D&D community comes together for D&D Celebration – a weekend celebrating the release of The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, and previewing Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons (Oct 19) and Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos (Nov 16)!

The first official D&D musical? The cast of Star Trek: Discovery rolling the d20s? This year’s D&D Celebration will offer fans a front row seat to watch all that and more as hilarious Dungeon Masters lead adventures in a slate of side-splitting virtual games including:

- Disco Does D&D
o Cast members from Star Trek: Discovery Anthony Rapp, Mary Wisemann, Blu del Barrio, Ian Alexander, and special guest Wil Wheaton, play D&D with Noah Averbach-Katz at the helm as DM

- The Circus of Sound – a D&D Musical
o The long-awaited D&D musical event starring Anthony Rapp, Jason Charles Miller, Azie Dungey, Vico Ortiz, and Mariah Rose Faith with Kelly Lynne D’Angelo as DM

- The Slapstick Hunt: A Silly Chase
o DM Amy Vorpahl leads cast members from The Guild, Sandeep Parikh, Vince Caso, Robin Thorsen, Amy Okuda, and Jeff Lewis on a comedic adventure through the multiverse

- The Dungeon & The Dragon
o An unlikely band of monsters are assembled to help a wronged dragon track down the heroes who stole her hoard with Alicia Marie, Deborah Ann Woll, Todd Stashwick, Patrick Rothfuss, and Matthew Lillard playing as monsters and B. Dave Walters as DM

- The Great Dragon Tourney
o Get ready for a tourney unlike any other featuring dragon jousting, racing, and diplomacy starring Anna Prosser, Mica Burton, Nathan Sharp, Jonathan Indovino, and Kate Welch (in an extra-special role) with Mark Hulmes as DM

The weekend will close with a look to the future of the brand with the Future of D&D panel hosted by D&D’s own Liz Schuh, Ray Winninger, Chris Perkins, and Jeremy Crawford.

Maybe that is why Hasbro has been shopping it around for a buyer before the Seattle mindset gets out and infects the rest of the company.

WotC was one of the most profitable divisions of Hasbro over the past year or so, due to both D&D and Magic. I don't think the execs as Hasbro are worried.

Not worried? WotC grossed $816 MILLION last year and accounted for 70%+ of Hasbro's net profit.

Not only are Hasbro execs doing cartwheels of joy at the corporate office, they're literally reorganizing their business structure in order to continue growing the audience for Dungeons & Dragons. Source

At this point in time, you'd have to pry WoTC from Hasbro's cold dead hands to get it away from them!

To be fair, every other top flight pro sports team in the area has had a good (Reign) to great (Sounders, Seahawks, Storm, Seawolves) past decade. The Rainiers just won the pennant and Defiance look nearly certain to make the playoffs.

The 80s were rough, the 90s outside of the Sonics were rough. But the 20-teens? Seattle sports are good.

And they're getting a hockey team! My inner Canadian is very excited.

Seattle's a great town. I visited in 2013 and walked all over the city, every meal was great, and I only wish I could have spent more time there. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I smelled marijuana just about everywhere I went no matter the time of day. It's 7:30 AM and I'm walking to the Museum of Pop Culture and I'm in a big public area when I get a strong whiff of the Mary Jane. Walking not too far from Pike Place Market and suddenly I walk into a cloud of smoke as some dude around the corner exhales. I smelled more marijuana than I did tobacco. But I saw a lot of fun things in Seattle.

1. A man dressed as a frog dressing down a cowboy preacher telling him, "God loves everyone. Even the gays and the potheads."
2. I saw seals around Bainbridge Island on my way to Bremerton.
3. The Underground Tour was a lot of fun and provided me with plenty of fodder for a Vampire campaign.
4. I learned about Shelly's Leg from the Museum of History and Industry.
5. Every place I ate was fantastic. King Street Bar & Oven makes a good pizza and loaded mine up with garlic.

I cannot recommend Seattle enough as a place to visit.

Like any town, Seattle can be fantastic or trash depending on your visit.

Uwajimaya is the best. The food court there is amazing. At Pike’s Place there’s a comic shop and an old magazine shop that are always worth a visit. Found some great old pulps there. There’s a famous toy store and a burrito shop with burritos the size of fat babies. Both worth visiting but I can’t remember their names.

Picard will likely be a Q before the end of Season 2...3 at the outside. By Season 7 it will be a fully animated show with an AI Patrick Stewart "actor".
