Monk. There's only one reason it's even legitimately in the game, as far as I'm concerned; there aren't any feats for fighters to take that make unarmed combat worthwhile.

I mean, seriously! It's as out of place as a Swashbuckler or Paladin would in in OA, or a Jedi would be in a Star Trek game, even!

Down with the monk!

Now, what I find hard to believe is how anyone could vote for the rogue.

I'm with you on this one. Why is there ONE Asian Core Class? Why are they so powerful? I think somebody at wizards watches too much Kung-Fu.

I've played bards, they're spiffy and fun. Monks make more than one genere posible in core D&D. Wizards, on the other hand, are just clunky and confusing. Now that we have Sorcorers, I'm confortable voting Wizard off.

Bye-bye Wizard! And take your clunky Vancian magic system with you!

Now maybe D&D will have a decent magic system.

The only reason it's in there is to appeal to people who played 1e, and lamented its loss in 2nd edition. Same for the half-orc. That's my ascertation, anyway.

I'm gonna make a prediction all the way to the end. I think they'll drop in this order:

Monk, Bard, Sorcerer, Ranger, Druid, Barbarian, Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Wizard.

The Fighter will win, for the same reason the humans won the race poll. Simple and closest to real-life appeals to the masses.
