I voted sorceror. When wizards need years of study, it really detracts from their prestige to find someone else can cast the same spells without ever doing anything to earn the pattern. I could live with it if they had substantially different spell lists -- maybe if it were clerics instead of ersatz wizards who were done like sorcerors. Or maybe give a wizard optional spontaneous casting feats, if you really want spontaneous arcane full casters. But as things stand, I don't like having both wizards and sorcerors, and wizards got here first.

I see monks are going to go first, and I can't really quarrel with that. I'd probably be voting them out next. Way too exotic. I was happier with them in 1/e when the requirements kept them weird enough and rare enough. Even so, that would still make them the most expendable class. But what's this I see? Bards are favourite to be kicked out next? Say it ain't so! My beloved Nurlan, what can I do to save thee? The most fun class to roleplay, but this forum it seems is populated by philistines who do not appreciate your talents! Round Two will require much lobbying to see that you at least out live that exercise in redundancy, the sorceror.

Even though I'm a paladin fan, it might be a good idea to ditch em. That way every single publishing company will produce their own version to cater to the existing market & at least 1 will stuff it up by frontloading it.

Hmmm, greater weapon focus & 4th lvl spells at 9th level? Quickly, ditch the paladin!

I'm gonna make a prediction all the way to the end. I think they'll drop in this order:

Monk, Bard, Sorcerer, Ranger, Druid, Barbarian, Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Wizard.

Nah. Clerics will outlast paladins at the very least, because if those are the last two divine casting classes left, clerics are so much more flexible. You can reasonably well approximate the paladin as a lawful good fighter/cleric, but can't build a cleric out of the other classes. I'm pretty sure the original four base classes (and their successors) will be the last four: the most flexible archetypes, of which the other classes (except monk, which is totally bizarre) are all essentially variants and combinations.

And looking at the polling, you're wrong about the ranger too. It'll be in the final five.

Why does everyone seem to dislike the Bard? What other class can have a +11 to Diplomacy at 2nd level (before Cha modifer is added and racial mods if you choose half-elf).

Rogue.

Bard. He's too much of the "Anything you can do" kind of character. I mean, okay, he can sing, but... compared to the unarmed damage of the monk, well...

And if you don't like the monk "because it's eastern", take a look at "The Thomas Covenant Cronicles" by Stephen R. Donaldson. We have there unarmed warriors who kick ass - I believe Monte used them as a basis for his Oathbound in AU /EU.

I can definitely be wrong, but I think paladin will outlast cleric because so many people consider clerics to either be overpowered or boring. And never underestimate the hatred of the ranger on these boards....people just need to get their bard and monk angst out of the way, then they'll turn on the ranger.
