D&D Classics updated for 3.5?

Me, I wish they'd convert the GDQ series. That was good gaming.

Same here. I hope the fact they've been presenting nice, pretty new maps for the "Giants" modules on WotC's "Map a Week" means that conversions are in the offing. Even if they don't convert the D and Q modules, conversions of the "Giants" modules would be a big help in that direction.

I thought the 2e conversion was pretty good ... I'd buy a 3x conversion too

Aus_Snow - The official WPM conversion will be beautiful! Thank you thank you! The Tomb of Horrors will be nice as a one-shot but I wouldn't dare take our new campaign characters through it!

Just be careful with the ToH conversion, Kwyn: it's muchly-reduced in power (4 8th level PCs should be able to succeed in the Tomb, vs. the OD&D version being able to challenge a large gropu of 10-14th level PCs).

Psion - I'd love the GDQ series as well. It would be a massive undertaking. I had the official 2.0 version and ran it with some folks and it was great fun.

There are some good conversions on the two ENWorld pages for GDQ: http://www.enworld.org/downloads/index.php?cid=9 The old one @ http://web.archive.org/web/20050306121935/http://66.34.111.89/Eric/3econversionsdocs.htm used to be usable via the IP, but it looks like it's finally gone, which is a bummer since I always found Rob Sanders' G1-3 to be top-notch (he started the D series modules too). (And after a quick google search, it looks like they'd been archived @ http://dungeonbastard.net/3econversionsdocs.html but that's gone too).

Grodog - Thanks for links to your page. Bookmarked! We're all very old-school and even FR material gets plunked down on a duchy or one of the bandit kingdoms or whatever. Your page will no doubt be useful.

Glad you like it :D I haven't had a chance to do much updating recently, due to lots of work and travel, but I'll be doing so again soon.

darn grodog, your page is getting big

Thanks trollwad: there's a lot of info to cover, and I've got tons more to add, including some really cool and unique lore/material/stuff to add. Once it arrives.
