Everything is improved with dinosaurs. We could more use more traditional dinosaurs as player races, sure, but birds are a fine stop-gap

Um, yes?

Not only is my answer "yes," it is a practical "yes." Because I actually included a tropical island with various dinosaurs on it in my Jewel of the Desert DW game. It's ruled by a genie princess who rides dinosaurs. The party was suitably dazzled and intimidated, but she's taken a shine to them because they're refreshingly honest for mainlanders, and know how to respect authorities even if they don't "have" to.
