D&D Experience UK!

The Living Forgotten Realms adventures, and the other things in the post from Kithran (the Senior GM for RPGA and other 'organised play'/'living campaigns' type games) plus some of the classic games are available for pre-booking on the consupport site. From what I can tell at the moment, everything Kithran is organising is pre-bookable, and there isn't any 4e D&D on the site that isn't organised by Kithran. How I guess it is going to work is that Kithran is handling the RPGA side of 4e stuff (LFR plus "Return to the Moathouse" and the three rounds of the D&D Championship being played for fun rather than competitively) and that Esdevium/WotC are sorting out the other "D&D Experience" bits which are more likely to be 'turn up and play'.

I'm sure it'll all become clearer in time, though - and the advantage this year is that there is no charge for individual games, so once you have a day or 4-day pass if you find a game with an empty space there aren't any hassles to stop you just joining the game.

Seminars, signings, the delve, open gaming, demos, and a few other bits and bobs will be "show up and play."

All scheduled adventures, 4E Live (the live dungeon), and the medieval village dungeon crawl all require event tickets. As I understand it, you can register for these events now (or soon, in a few cases) at the Gen Con UK site (www.genconuk.com), which now seems to be working.

Aha, I believe I have just managed to book some spots in a couple of games on Thursday...
I also appear to have volunteered to run a game on Friday... any idea how I can un-volunteer myself?

*shame faced*
In my defence it isn't the clearist layout ever...

... I'll get my coat...

Unless I'm missing something, the sign up is 'now' in the case of LFR, Return to the Moathouse and the D&D Championship adventures, but 'not yet' for other things you've mentioned, Charles. Do you have a list of these other events (i.e. are there classic adventures which aren't Return to the Moathouse or the D&D Championship?) What would be of particular use, I think, would be something in the "D&D for beginners" line. None of the RPGA events particularly lend themselves to tables full of new players - the classic events have pregenerated characters of (I think) 5th level, and LFR requires you to have created your own character.

If you click on 'My Status' or go to Sign up --> My Status you can get a list of what you're signed up for. There's a 'bin' icon to the right of things you can cancel yourself. Click that and it should delete the event. If there's no bin (and it says "GM Confirmed") you will need to contact someone, probably Kithran. Posting on the consupport forum would be a good way to get in touch with him, and his email address might be on the contact us bit of the site.

We'll have demos (for the true beginner) and the delve (a short drop-in-and-play event with everything pregenned and suitable for newbies) running continuously. No need to sign up--just come by!

As for signing up for some of the other stuff I mentioned: These events are being run by separate groups under a D&D sponsorship, and the timing of when they're ready to accept sign-ups varies by organizer. For the most part they'll have sessions running pretty much continuously throughout Gen Con, so it shouldn't be too hard to get a slot. They should all be up on the Gen Con UK site pretty soon.
