I work at B. Dalton which is a division of Barnes and Noble, and we received ours last Thursday. Got 4 copies in, put them out on Friday, and by Saturday 2 were stolen. Same thing happened to Races of Eberron; 5 in...2 out.

Makes me not want to carry Role Playing stuff sometimes.
You guys don't have those electronic tracking tags you can slip into books that makes alarms go off if they're shoplifted?

In any case, that definitely sucks. :\

I'm thinking of swinging by my local bookstore (Barnes & Noble in the mall -- moving out of LA means a big lack of choice for bookstores) and thumbing through this. I bet most people will learn something from this book, even if many of them won't admit it.

i bought one for each of the guys in my d02 group.

we are down to only 6 now. :o

Since it's a 3.5 product, shouldn't you have bought one for eneryone in your OD&D group? ;)

Those things are too easy to remove. They're barely stuck to the page and very easily come out. I've removed many of them after I've bought the book and found it.

Nope, I am sorry to say that we do not have those electronic tags. Then again, the Barnes & Noble down the street doesnt either. They really dont have much of a Role Playing section though, since they figured it was no use to compete with my store and the section I have built. :)

Over the course of the past few days, I have figured up that we have "lost" about $200 worth of stuff from RPG. People wonder why we have the D&D miniatures behind the counter. Not really hard to figure out.

The one thing about the Dummies book is it is actually written by people who know the subject matter. That cant be said about all the Dummies books. This is at least gives it a leg up in that regard.
