D&D gaming style preference changes

In the last 20 years, I´ve gone full circle.

I´ve started at around 12 playing AD&D with some older boys, mostly just having fun gaming together.

Over the years I moved on to WoD (around 16) and other games with an heavy amphasis on storytelling.

Around 20, I got into the more simulationist gaming style, later influencing how we played 3E.

Now nearing my mid-thirtees, I´m back to meeting friends, having fun gaming together.

Sure, some things changed, the bottle of coke has been replaced by red wine, fast food has been replaced by cooking with the others before we start, scenarions should make a bit of sense and more role playing instead of roll playing, but at least I am back to being easy with the rules, not argueing about mechanics and just enjoying the game instead of the system.
