I remember reading about an early Sumerian tablet that spoke about "The days of yore." The days of yore? DOODS, pot? Kettle?

Roleplaying culture has changed since the early days

On behalf of my little segment of the roleplaying culture, allow me to dissent.

Agreed. Of course that doesn't mean we agree about what kind of risk. For example, I almost completely took out the risk of death out of my game, but PCs face a huge number of other risks.

For something to be a joke, doesn't it have to be something other than a repeat of an existing argument?

See, the humor is in bringing a bunch of separate arguments together & showing how all the things that make the game fun have somebody out there who hates them individually.

Although, there was a time when I probably whole-heartedly agreed with all those statements, so I probably wouldn't have seen any humor in it.

In all seriousness, I think that coddling player-characters so that the players themselves do not have any "unfun" is absolute and total excrement. I mean, come on already!

I guess this part almost qualifies as humour.
