Regarding the half-illithid, remember that it is a mis-nomer. The correct term would be ceremorph. Illithids begin life as a tadpole, which burrows into the brain of a host. If the host was a human, the result of the ceremorphosis is a full-fledged mind flayer. Anything else is a so-called ceremorph. The lizardfolk turn into what is known as the tzakandi.
Exactly.

I don't mind them being called Half-Illithid...in fact, Illithid are major villains IMC, so there are a bunch of different Half-Illithid 'races' here and there. This is a great surprise for me! If only it was a Half-Illithid Kobold!

Oooo. Aberrations is looking very nice indeed!
The Half-Illithid and the Destrachan are very nice indeed. Combine that with some hot, kobold action and it looks like they've got a winner here.

Hmmm. In Eberron, Hellcow has hinted that mind flayers are the result of the daelkyr destruction of the original gith homeworld (another planet in the Eberron prime). The daelkyr used their aberration creation skills to morph gith into illithids. I wonder how you combine this with the lore of ceremorphosis...

I am physically holding the Half-Illithid Lizardfolk in my hand. :) The paint job is decent. I got it from the WotC booth here at GenCon. It says, "GenCon1, LE 13".

Interesting :) where did you take this knowledge from? I am not a very fan of psionics, therefore I don't own any psionics handbooks or sourcebooks, but this idea is very... well, splatter :p

Half-Illithid Lizardfolk and ceremorphosis are described under the half-illithid template in the Fiend Folio. I think it is described elsewhere as well, though. I think WOTC put stats for an illithid tadpole on its website previously, and that may have contained similar information, but I don't remember for sure.

The tzakandi was first presented way back in Dragon 255, along with the svirfneblin ceremorph, mozgriken. With the size of the 2E monster entries, they could go into considerable depth on the nature of ceremorphosis.

I'd also surmise that the 2E Monstrous Arcana book The Illithiad has some stuff on it.

What zoroaster and NiTessine said. Sadly, I never was able to get my hands on the Illithiad, so I cannot say if there was more on the topic in that book. I could see this being discussed in the Codex Anathema, though.
