Hmm - we still don't know that much about Giants of Legend.

The best guesses are as follows:

* Warforged Titan (huge)
* Behir (huge)
* Huge Red Dragon (huge)
* Treant (huge)
* Demon, Glabrezu (huge)
* Cloud Giant (huge)
* Bulette (huge)
* Fire Genasi
* Warforged
* Fire Giant
* King Bruenor

Cheers!

Ummm, what happened to the Fell Menace set?

Fell Menace was a name used for mock-ups of the boxes displayed at the New York Trade Fair; it was the preliminary name of the set, which eventually got renamed "Aberrations".

Cheers!

I'll be curious to see which huge minis they consider rare-worthy. In any event, I'm going to have to skip this set except for a few huge commons I want. I will say this, though: given the current nature of the secondary market, which demands and receives up to $30 for minis such as the Harbinger ogre, troll, and umber hulk, I will not be bidding on huge rares. I can already see triple digit prices for the huge red dragon. Hello? It's a $2 piece of machine-painted plastic. For 20 bucks or less you can buy a metal dragon mini and paint it red yourself. I think at some point the convenience of buying pre-painted plastic monsters - especially when talking about the huge rares - will be trumped by the relative cheapness of unpainted metals.

The secondary market is going to go nuts over huge rares. Forget about trying to buy one for your gaming table.

I have been collecting complete sets of the minis, but had considered not trying for a compete set of Giants because of the price increase and smaller number of packs per case. This puts the last nail in the coffin. I'm not going to be trying for anything near a complete set. I'll pick up a few packs, hope that I get something that I want, and be done with it. If I want the regular size minis, I'll pick them up on ebay, and to hell with the huges. I don't need them badly enough to spend the amount of $ necessary to get a full set.

Nice going WotC. Take something that was good and getting better, and drive it into the ground. Hope you are happy with yourselves.

The real issue for me that will determine my happiness with the set (and let's be clear, I've already pre-ordered) will be the dispensation of the Huge minis. For example, the fire giant and glabrezu, I hope, are the common types, as they have more use to me in my D&D game. The Red Dragon will be useful, but I don't mind him being rare. I expect the Behir will be rare, but I'd sure like one. The Treant I can take or leave. I expect an elder elemental of some sort will be in the mix, and I'll be glad of that.

I expect that after Giants of Legend, I'll never need another Huge mini, though. :)
