...humans... , they have no business being a fantasy race.

actually I've fantasized about a few humans over the years - but I suppose thats a different kind of roleplaying

Short, bearded, looks like he sees snow white whenever he gets home from work. That spells "dwarf" better than the letters d, w, a, r and f :p

and I weep for your soul!!!

You found it? Can you tell it that it should get back here?

To those who think dwarves are the new elves, the asymetry of power with dwarves in this edition don't even come close to the cheese of elves in the Complete Book of Elves. If nothing else, consider this: No game I played using 2nd edition rules lacked elves (small amount of hyperbole). I have played many games that lack dwarves in 3.5.

As far as justifying being an @ss based on the race of the character, nothing I have seen with dwarves OR elves in 3.X comes even close to the obnoxious behavior of all too many elf PCs in 2nd edition. I had a character the didn't like elves based on her consistantly bad experiences with elven PCs (mostly) and NPCs who seem to consider being rude and condecending to be a requirement.

BTW, any predictions on Humans vs. Dwarves next round? I am wondering just how strong the dwarf-hate lobby is...

I must concur, Elves in 2ed were just sick. We played 'Night Below' and decided to all play Wood Elves from the same village. Most of us I believe had never really played one before and we thought it would be fun......it wasn't for our DM.

Having a lengthy pour thru the Elven Handbook we discovered that all elves had this rapid shot ability with bows and all of us were equipped with bows of one sort or another. Now at 1st glance this ability wasn't that great at all as it gave you iterative attacks so in all likely hood we were missing 3 outta 5 shots. However when you combine the elven rapid shot ability, the firetrap arrows that were also in the same handbook, grenade rules, lots of enemies and a cramped environment such as a tunnel, 4 elven archers all of a sudden became freakin' death machines: that's 20 shots that upon hitting do bow and firetrap damage to the creature in question AND fire damage to all adjacent squares and any misses did fire damage to all 9 squares where it landed!!!!!! :]

Our DM soon got p****d off with that trick and started restricting our druids acces to that spell. Man it was sick!
