D&D Resolutions

Since the New Year is upon us, and Resolutions are traditional, I was wondering if anyone was making a resolution regarding their D&D gaming (or gaming in general).

Mine is simple: spend more time on the game (as opposed to, say, talking about it here. ;) )

My resolution gaming-wise is to give 4e a fair chance. Not that I'll like or dislike it, just that I'll approach it fairly.

I also want to give Savage Worlds a try. Getting my chance at Fear the Con on March 8. :)

My group's resolution is to play a number of old RPGs that we used to long ago that are collecting dust on the shelves (Boot Hill, Star Frontiers, Tunnels & Trolls, etc.)

No more crunchy splats. Adventures, sure. Campaign material, okay. No more handbooks or compendiums. If nothing else, 4E will be a nice mulligan for that ideal.

* To find a group to game with in the Twin Cities again.

* To be more open minded about other systems other than D&Ds. (I'd particularly like to try my hand at WFRP2 and the forthcoming WH40K RPG.)

Play online, play more, and play without prep. Develop through play and avoid the labyrinth of mental experimentation.

My resolutions are...

1) to buy only corrected Second (or later) Printing gamebooks.

quoted for truth, unless i have a gaming group who is DYING to play with this or that new book. or unless the C&C keeper book finally comes out... :P but that's it.

i also want to play more. find a group of people i can trust, or introduce friends into gaming.

play like i used to, for fun, for the storytelling, for the excitement and the creativity, and not be bogged down in fear of stupid rule citing contexts that *might* happen.

My group would never allow me to do this, they know if I ever get them into a game of OD&D I'll never stop running it.
