As free to play chinese MMO?

Google Translate

Nodwick readers probably already know this link.
So I was wrong when I said that no asian studio would have interest in the D&D license. Still, I guess thats not what anyone here imagined for a D&D video game.

Online translators are of course a bit "unprecise", but I don't think that they translate something into "Ilithid" by mistake. not to mention that quite a lot of D&D related names appear in the article.

Someone here doesn't happen to speak chinese and can deliver a more precise translation?

Unless it's officially confirmed by Wizards, I wouldn't believe it. China thrives on unofficial knockoffs of everything, and this appears to have just as much in common with WoW (especially the art style; first picture is a dead ringer for being inspired by Illidan Stormrage) as with D&D.

"Ancient World" is from Chengdu "Music Road" Web developers all 3D Magic Western-style MMORPG. The game is Dungeons & Dragons rule-based 3D fantasy online game,

Wotc & Atari look uninvolved. Sounds like the developers are using the ruleset as a base to work from.

Random thoughts.

I found myself wondering if Tuya wasn't some horrible mangling of Toril.

Knockoff or not, they have an underdark complete with drow and illithids, that's pretty darn D&D to me.

It's a little hard to tell, but it would make for a cool game if they went with a two faction setup like WoW, and then had above and below ground version of most of the zones.

That's a very conservatively dressed succubus.

Where's our official 4E video games, I want 4E video games, especially an MMO, D&D deserves a great MMO.

Aion would probably be a better comparisation.

I have seen this kind of clothing quite often in asia MMOs. Might have something to do with half naked woman being the default in many of those MMOs, so they need something different for a succubus.

Does anyone know if that company has any connection to Bandai?

Possibly, but it could simply be an issue of translation.

Seems quite clear they are working on a western style RPG game, at least inspired by D&D. If they use any IP or rules from any edition of the game, they'll have trouble with Wizards . . . . well, not sure how easy it is to enforce copyright overseas . . . .

Didn't the Sony MMO Planetside get completely ripped off by some Chinese company? If Sony were unable to prevent that, what chance has a smaller company?
