Can you explain a bit more about the source material? Usually with fanvids, you need to know the source fairly well to get something out of it.

As someone who knows the source fairly well (been playing WoW for over 5 years)...

Not terribly interesting. I'm not familiar with the song and it's not really my thing, so that probably doesn't help, and when I think of a WoW music video I expect machinima, not random cuts of pre-rendered FMVs. Watched about half of the video and couldn't make out anything resembling a coherent storyline.

I dare say the only reason to watch this video is if you really, really like the song.

On the topic of WoW music videos, here are what I'd consider some better examples...

Only thing you need to know for this one is that murlocs are a notoriously-annoying type of enemy based on Lovecraft's deep ones.
This song's entirely original. Rock/metal.

This one's about the Lich King, formerly Arthas Menethil, prince of Stormwind, a paladin who was corrupted and who's basically trying to take over the world with an army of undead.
Song is Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton, aka the Portal song.

This one doesn't need much context. The city shots are in Dalaran, which is basically the current "hot spot" where the most people hang out when not doing other stuff.
Song's a parody of Paparazzi by Lady Gaga

I must have damaged my geek cred, because I had no idea that WoW rock'n'roll videos were it's own subgenre. And that there were so many....

I guess that comes from not playing WoW.

Strange, I don't play WoW, yet recognised a lot of the footage.

Would I be terribly wrong if I hazarded a guess that this is footage taken from the "regular" Warcraft RTS games, and maybe from Diablo as well, and not so much from WoW?

/M

OK, I know enough about WoW to understand most of the references, (and it is truly a great and funny video), but what is QQ?

Bullgrit

Note the pair of capital Q's. Together they form an icon roughly approximating teardrops from a pair of eyes. The meaning is thus to cry/whine/complain. It is more of an internet thing than strictly a WOW thing.

Now it's even funnier. Thanks.
