I don't like this. Dungeons and Dragons is often 'the' gateway game for children into the hobby.

To associate the brand with gambling strikes me as off.

D&D branded beer and vodka? Hey, as long as we make more money eh?

It reminds me of when Disney theme parks started allowing booze..it sort of cheapened the whole experience and for my eyes the parks lost something...

It's weird that this bugs me in a game featuring demons of the abyss lol.

Is it just me?

D&D is already gambling to begin with. I know a few guys with D&D problems, like they probably need to be weened off, go to some meetings or something.

But children aren't supposed to go into casinos, so they'll never see it anyways :P

Seriously though, they have a lot of themed slot machines. I went to Vegas this summer and I remember the following:
- Kiss (the band)
- ZZ Top
- Titanic (the movie)
- Avatar
- Ghostbusters
- Michael Jackson
- The Game of Life
- Monopoly (holy crap are there Monopoly machines)

They'll make a slot machine out of anything, but I still wonder if they actually ask permission first... Can't imagine that they don't, but still.

It's billion-dollar business; no legitimate business is going to do something that has a likelihood of getting them and their customers sued, and force them to recall huge amounts of product. I suspect the Gaming Commission would pull their licenses for making slot machines if they got embroiled in something so negative to the gaming industry. And I know some of the programmers for these systems; the companies do have to fight for the licenses.

Hmm. I just wish Hasbro would let D&D be a roleplaying game instead of a 'brand' identity that they milk until it dies a slow agonising death from over exposure...and I don't think branching the game out into adult only avenues sends out a good message. I am very fond of adult only activities... but I don't think D&D suits that direction at all. Oh well, I am just not a fan of corporate big business and the idea that making more and more money is what life is all about. Why can't they just let D&D be a roleplaying game and bugger off with all this trans-media rubbish?
