Does that seem, disturbing, to anyone else?
Do we like get our own TV show too? Can we do it like one of those silly Mexican Game shows with the dancing girls in the background?

Next on Fox
"When Gamers Attack!"

So, you don't even try to introduce new players to the game?

Okay, when I first got D&D (back in 1976) I had to introduce new players to the game, since there were none in my community.

Then in 1979/80 (my memory gets fuzzy) I introduced folks to RuneQuest, again since I was the first one off the block in my area.

Then in 1989, I introduced folks to Ars Magica

3e? Nope. I picked up a group that already had the rulebooks, already knew the game, etc. If anything, I have tried to get them to try something else, such as Nobilis. D&D/WotC has not needed my help anywhere I have lived since the early 1980s -- there have been a ton of players in all the places I have lived. The problem has been trying to convince folks that D&D is not the only game out there! :)

Now I Understand... Well, Maybe

Ah, I see. I suppose my distaste arose partially from my misunderstanding of the exact meaning of the word. When I think evangelist, I think of the negative associations of religion in general, rather than a simple preacher.

- revamped Dragon and Dungeon magazines
How do they plan to do this, since Paizo now owns both magazines? I would imagine that what WotC does certainly has some pull at the magazine office, but they're no longer part of the same company.

Can anybody explain this to me?

Furthermore, how much are they going to change these magazines? In what ways? I'm interesed...

"Brand Evangelist" is a term commonly used in marketing. It just means someone who has good enough feelings about the brand to recommend it to others without prompting. Nothing religious or mind-controllin about it, just industry jargon. I've worked for at least one software company that used this term internally in the same sense.

"Revamping Dragon & Dungeon." Sounds to me like they will pull the license from Paizo and go back to publishing it themselves? [Anecdotal] Given that Paizo couldn't see fit to send me a renewal notice for my maagzines until they had expired, [/Anecdotal] and Johnny Wilson's departure, I wouldn't be surprised if management there isn't going as swimmingly as Hasbro would like in order to extend the brand.

More than likely they will drop polyhedron
