I am only in (well running) one D&D game right now in Iron Kingdoms so I am using the PHB 3.5, DMB 3.5, Iron Kingdom Character Guild, Iron Kingdom Campaign Guild, the Monsternomicon, Five Fingers and No Quarter magazines mostly. I am allowing a few Feats and Spells from the following books also... the Complete Warrior, Divine, Arcane and Adventure. I am also using a few things from Complete Mage (one feat and a few spells down the road).

For my last game (The Whispering Cairn from Dungeon #124) we used:
  • The three 3.5 core books
  • Libris Mortis
  • Spell Compendium
  • Complete Divine
  • MM III
  • Player's Guide to Faerûn
  • The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
  • The North
  • Empires of the Shining Sea

I'm actually not running a game right now but if I were I'd probably limit it to something like:

3 Core Rulebooks
Expanded Psionics Handbook
Ptolus

If someone were to play a spellcaster then I'd allow the Spell Compendium. I'd also allow the Magic Item Compendium if it were available but it won't come out 'till next month.

The other campaing I'd like to play would require a different set of books:

3 Core Rulebooks
Midnight 3.5
Fury of Shadow

How 'bout you? Are you using that copy of PHB II you bought? What about that copy of Races of Stone you purchased way back in '04?

Every book I own is fair game though individual elements are subject to approval.

In fact one of the players in my Wildwood game who is making a new character is considering the PHII shifter variant, so yes it is being used. I didn't buy races of stone however.

My games are usually open world games open to many options, though I have nothing against more limited resource games.

Off the top of my head I've used the following books:

3 Core Rulebooks
Monster Manual II
Monster Manual III
Fiend Folio
Liber Mortis
Spell Compendium
Scarred Lands Campaign Setting: Ghelspad
Rituals & Relics (Scarred Lands setting)
Rituals & Relics II (Scarred Lands setting)
Players Guide to Clerics and Druids (Scarred Lands setting)
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft

I generally allow my players to use other books, so there are a few other Scarred Land specific books and/or WotC books (i.e. Complete Adventurer) they have used somewhat.

3 Core rulebooks
ECS
Five Nations (now-deceased wizard PC was a Silver Pyromancer)
Book of Exalted Deeds (cleric has VoP)
EPH (soulknife PC)
Complete Psionic (soulknife PrC)
Races of Eberron (soulknife has Kalashtar racial sub level)
Complete Arcane (bard PC is a Sublime Chord, spells)
Complete Divine (spells, feats)
Complete Adventuerer (spells, feats, equipment)

And the DMs used enemies from Libris Mortis, Lords of Madness, and at least one of the later MMs...

In the game I'm getting ready to start on a bi-weekly basis I will be allowing Core books only for now.

In the game I'm playing in we use Advanced Melee, Advanced Wizard, & Into the Labyrinth.

The Kherindal game uses:

Arcana Evolved: Main rules, races, classes, spells.
Wilderlands of High Fantasy: General setting.
Eberron, Dragonmarked : For the noble houses, dragonmarks.
Rappan Athuk: For the one place no one wants to be, yet drawn as moths to the flame.

One day I'm going to make my own PH condensed out of AE, IH and excerpts from ECS and Dragonmarked. Seasoned liberally with my own house rules. This, of course, takes time I don't have.
