If it were up to me, I'd only game with accountants.
Why isn't it up to you? Are former KGB agents making you game with aspiring writer/amateur historians?

And my group currently contains one aspiring lawyer.

I've certainly gamed with rules-lawyers, people with an accountant's obsessiveness over tracking gold, supplies, and XP and self-styled "doctors" quick to tell everyone the "realistic" effects of various wounds and conditions ;)

Of these three professional areas (Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants), how many do you see in your D&D games (including yourselves)?

(Multiple Response Poll - You can choose more than one answer.)

yes. all of the above and some.

Military, Engineers, Lab rats, IT support.

My group had 2 lawyers and a law student among others, at one time. Now we have one lawyer (me) and a pre-bar law school grad.

The rules lawyer is the scientific graphic artist. go figure.

Is a med student who eventually became an M.D. count even if I did not play in the same group with him at that later stage?

When I lived near Washington D.C., not surprisingly, many of my fellow role-players were lawyers. I've also gamed with accountants, doctors, programmers, writers, and the occasional musician. If only the general public knew that many of us don't exactly fit the stereotype of the antisocial adolescent...

Because I'm still struggling getting all my really good friends I've continued to play with for more than a decade and a half to go and take years and years of education so they can go and change their current careers.

That's why. (No idea about the whole "KGB agents" thing, though...)

My main group consists of myself (software engineer), a teacher, a dentist, and a... scientist (we can never pin down his exact job, a bit like Chandler; but he researches stuff using very expensive machines that go 'beep' a lot). My newer group includes a lawyer, engineer, accountant, and others that I don't know yet.

Nope, though it might give new meaning to the term 'rules lawyer'.
Where d'you think my screen name comes from? :)

I don't actually know any accountants in personal life, but there have been plenty of doctors (and currently four(!) lawyers, including myself) in my games, as well as some VC/hedge fund guys, musicians, grad students, architects, and... well, all over the place. Oddly enough, I game with very few actors or tech people, which I guess means my groups are really against type.

Any particular reason for this poll?
