A new Dungeons & Dragons guidebook is coming out later this year. DK Books has announced The Book of Dragons, a new guidebook featuring the dragons of D&D. The new book is written by Michael Witwer and will be released in August 2025. The 224-page book isn't a rulebook but rather a licensed book that focuses on the lore of dragons. The book is written at least partially from the perspectives of Tiamat and Bahamut.

Something like this, do you mean?
You are posting a now 3 months old video everony already saw, where he just goes through the preview images anyone can find online with a google search, so... basically pointless to watch since we have access to these images. I meant a physical book review where the reviewer has it in hand.

A 3-month video which made many a viewer on EN World (me included) decide to go and get it. ;) As for a review of the physical book, I can imagine we'll be seeing them as soon as the first of us gets their copy in the mail, looks through it and posts it here on EN World. ;)

I think this will be a pass for my group.

For the people who want it, I am glad that they have a product they can support.

For me, I am having a hard time justifying spending money on this.
Visually, whether or not I like the new art varies wildly, but leans toward being an overall no in the aggregate.
Lorewise, what 5e24 chooses to highlight and chooses to downplay seems geared toward a target audience that has very different tastes than I do. (I think 5e24 needs a new setting that more-fully embraces the change in direction presented by the new books.)

My copy of D&D: The Book of Dragons showed up on my doorstep around 5 pm EST today. :) Right now most of my attention is on the two-page spread on the Dragonborn aka the Ash-Marked Ones. Any idea on why they are sometimes called the Ash-Marked Ones?

Page one on the Dragonborn provides a bit of lore as well as pics of male and female Dragonborn (side and front).

Page two covers Dragonborn types (Chromatic, Metallic and weirdly enough hybrids. No mention of Gem). Each type has headshots for each kind of Chromatic and Metallic Dragonborn. The hybrid Dragonborn are the result of intermarriage between Dragonborn clans.

Edit: The Hybrid Dragonborn are a definite nod to 4e's Dragonborn.
