D2: Lost Manor (nimisgod judging)

"He left by the kitchen." tells Ridik and rush to the door. He open it and look around to see if he could still see him, knowing his chance would be slim.

"No, he was just knocked unconscious. It appears that the intruder has fled without encountering anyone else or apparently taking anything. We're checking the whole house now." he replies.

"I don't think we have anything going on in here. I'm going to go down and check on things downstairs. Do you want to stay or go?", Gardner says to the red haired barbarian warrior.

"Whatever he wanted is likely in this room. I will stay here until we are sure he is gone."

"I'll let you know when the coast is clear.", Gardner says cautiously walking out of the room to check on the others.

Ao'thuir

Heather nods, still in the grip of her emotions but slowly coming to terms with what happened. "...thank you. I'll go calm the children"

Lucien and Ridik

The Mountain Goblin looks outside and sees no trace of the intruder. Being short as he is, he does notice that the lock to this entrance/exit has been picked.

Looking for tracks outside is far easier for the Half-Elf than it was inside. It takes a few minutes but his night seeing eyes two trails: one going in and one going out. The tracks seem to be made by the same one person (probably Richard's assailant).

Tracking him through the streets will be very difficult and dangerous at this time. If he had spells at his disposal as Richard said...

Gardner

On his way down, Gardner hears multiple conversations going on in the house, both downstairs and upstairs. The Wood Elf ao-Thuir sounds like he's talking to Heather inside the living quarters. On the ground floor, he sees Richard and Ignatious' brother by the fireplace. The latter is sound asleep.

There is a chill breeze coming from the open kitchen door and movement outside.

"Good, I'll go check on the others. You don't have a candle I could borrow do you?" replies ao'Thuir. His vision is good, but could be better with some light.

Richard continues to build the fire, tired of being held prisoner of the dark, not trusting the frail candlight's dim glow. He uses this new light to look for wood near the fireplace, surely they have some around here to build the morning fire!? Perhaps the kitchens, Richard thinks at last, and heads in that direction.

OOG: Actually, Richard already has a candle in hand (5 feet shadowy illumination)to help him see... Not sure if you saw that but pointing it out, just in case

ao'Thuir

Heather rummages through a nearby drawer and takes out two candles. She digs deeper and carefully pulls out a small stick. She slides one end of the stick against the wall and it ignites. Heather then lights both candles before very cautiously snuffing out the tindertwig.

She gives one of the candles to ao'Thuir. "Very expensive, but useful in an emergency"

Richard

Richard goes to the kitchen and finds the exit to the outside open. He can see the shadowy shapes of Lucien and Ridik in the night's dim illumination. Finding no firewood in the kitchen, he goes out and sees a stack of wood to one side near the door.
