The news page reports that Mongoose Publishing are going to be publishing the D20 version of Conan. If Mongoose keep up their previous high quality works, I can't wait to see this!

One question it raises in my mind, given some other threads, is what tact they will take with regards to art. Will they try to employ newer art styles? or similar to those art styles used in earlier Conan works, be they book covers, comics, etc.

Are we likely see for instance, Boris or Frazzeta involved?

Well, I for one believe that at least the cover would be great if it was a Frazetta work. When I first read REH's work in the late 70s, early 80s, Frazetta was on the covers!

His work captures the darkness of REH's work and is truly eye-catching. Not bad for helping sales I would suspect.

Funny you should mention attacks of opportunity. We are currently working on (another licenced) game that will effectively be D20 Lite - kinda like the old red box of basic D&D, and AoO were the first thing we dropped.

What so you reckon then? Should Conan also be D20 Lite, or do you want heavyweight rules in all their glory?

BTW, Conan is due to be released in January 2004. Sorry about the wait, but we have a lot of other cool things coming out in the mean time and I promise it will be well worth it :)

D20 lite is the top of my wishlist!!!

Make it lite.
