d20 Fey/Shakespeare?

Hi folks!

Working on a side project and I was curious if d20/OGL statistics have been released anywhere (in printed or electronic form) for the following characters:

* Oberon
* Titania
* Robin Goodfellow
* Winter Queen

And a few others that aren't from A Midsummer Night's Dream:

* Minos
* CuChulainn
* Chiron (the centaur)

If you know of any sources, I'm eager to hear about it. Thanks!

Not that I've ever seen, but I must say I have more then apassing curiosity on what you are planning. So, what are you planning? :D

I'm not telling yet. :)

I've made a pitch and I'm waiting for a response from a publisher. If the project doesn't get picked up I'll shop it around and you'll hear more. But I'll say this much -- it's a pre-existing game license (not d20) that lends itself to d20.

It uses some stock characters from mythology/popular literature and I'm only too happy to use the OGL to adapt what's been written about those characters.

It's very possible that by the time a publisher decides to publish it, the book will be completed. We'll see.

ON a semi-OT note. If anyone is interested in a terrific example of Titiana et al from MND in story format, check out Neil Gaiman's Sandman (if you're one of the four people in the world who haven't already ;) ). I believe it's the compilation "Dream Country" that has the story showing William Shakespeare's company perform the play for the Seelie Court. :D

Okay, I AM telling

It occurred to me that I've already putten up information about the game license I'm working on now, so may as well post what it's about:

http://members.toast.net/talien/abyss.html

Abyss is a role-playing game set in the fantastic world of Dante's Inferno. It is a world of treachery and evil, where violence is a continual threat and doing a good deed could get you killed. Powerful archfiends dominate a world filled with the lost and the damned, but are themselves dominated by the lords of the Inferno. It is a world where absolute evil is mirrored by absolute good. Even the lords of the Abyss must heed the servants of the Divine, or face the wrath of God and his sword, the Host.

Abyss is a d20 role-playing setting complete with new races, prestige classes, spells, psionics, feats, and magic items.

Still looking for a publisher, contact me on the site if interested.

Ahhh...too many cool things in one thread...must post comment...

Fey concepts are the basis of my setting (no plans to publish; not competition). "Dream Country" is the correct Sandman collection; Volume III in the collection of reprints. I have to second the "read it if you haven't" opinion. Even if you have no interest in comics, if you like interesting, evocative reading, give it a try. Anyway, that story is an influence on my setting, too.

The world of Inferno...so, not Italy, I take it, but the Inferno, Purgatory and Heaven? Pretty interesting idea. Could be a wonderfully absorbing environment , with large scale stakes (er...figuratively speaking). Probably no place for, ah, "power gamers", though.

Best of luck! It is a product I would certainly take an interest in, and that is not really true of very many, for me.

Cheers

Like the cover art a lot. If you get the product out, and it has even a little more art of that quality, it would be hard to turn your nose up at!

Well wahtever it is If its a Midsummers Nights Dream related I want it

Have you though about writing any GURPS Books btw? :D

Hi Keith,

Yes, Abyss was published once before with a d6 system. Marco Pecota, project lead and writer of the book, stretched Dante's inferno in interesting directions. He expanded the first circle (Limbo) to be a veritable pagan paradise -- i.e., a place where fantasy D&D troupes would be quite comfortable.

It's like Dante's Inferno on steroids. The whole game is definitely a unique twist on the typical, "Prime Plane/Heaven/Hell" cosmology. Or rather, it's the ORIGINAL take on that cosmology.

Note that this book only concentrates on the Abyss, although I'm of course proposing the possibility of the other two parts of Dante's Divine Comedy (Heaven and Purgatory...alright maybe just Heaven).

The original artwork in the book was fantastic. The cover was by Brom (you can see a tiny version of it on my web site). This was one of those settings that lends itself to the d20 system -- the setting is so rich that a lot was left out because of game rules. With the addition of d20, Abyss can come into its own as a game setting where you GO TO HELL...and stay there.

The setting is very rich, massive really. I just statted out the races listed in the original book as well as some that were suggested -- over 17 races in total!

It's got a lot of possibilities and I think it would do very well, given the number of supplements out on the market now about all things infernal.
