I am looking for a fighter or thief character created in the previous versions of the Fight Club 5 app (before the lobotomy of auto-calculation). If you can export the character in the current version and send it to me, I am trying to confirm if the auto-calculation is still enabled with imported characters. It works for characters that existed before the update.

Can you expand on what you mean by lobotomy of auto calculation?

Sure. Due to the cease and desist letter, the developer had to remove all copyrighted material from the latest update. This seems to include all of the class, race and background pre-populated information. E.g. When you select a Wood Elf for race, it automatically sets your speed to 35. This is no longer available. Also, when you level up, the older version automatically set the spell slots to that level. This is no longer possible with new characters.

I want to see if characters created in the older version that are exported, then imported to another copy of the app retain these auto-calculation features

Gotcha. After updating on one device, I saved to iCloud, then loaded onto my other device. It seems to have kept all my race based things.

I'm hoping the dev eventually adds the ability to import classes, races, and feats.

I should also point out mine isn't a good use case, because my character is a half-elf, which wasn't in the old version either, so I had to manually enter racial modifiers (ex: CHA bump). The old version only had things from the basic rules, not the entire PHB. (I also manually added class features for bard.)

Good to know. Did it automatically update your spell slots when you level up?

I agree about classes, races, feats import. Also background, etc. anything that is used to modify the character and includes character modifications would be great

Just saw the Elemental Evil companion guide! New races and 40 new spells! We need a way to easily convert these to Fight Club and/or DM 5!

Wizards made everyone remove all the backgrounds, spells and class features.

Ren1999: I understand that, and I actually agree with it. The material is copyrighted and can't be used for commercial purposes without the express written permission of the copyright holder. Information that is generated outside of this material, as the race, feats, spells, etc., information on this site, can be imported freely. However, we need templates for doing so in the app.

I hope the developer continues to build on the app and give us the ability to bring in and manage all sorts of information for our characters and campaigns!
