(You know, if the game is very popular and a later supplement isp rinted which does include PC plant rules, the reaction will not be "Hey, great, at long last!", but, rather, "You ripped us off! You FORCED us to buy this EXTRA book to get the rules that should have been in the first book! This is all a PLOT to get our money!")

Come now, Lizard. You should realize by now that its all just a plot to get THEIR MONEY. Bwuhahahaha!

Sure, this will be the initial reaction. But then "they" know precisely where to release the 'happy consumer' memes. Bingo! No more dissent!

The future is PERFECT.

I personally am greatly looking forward to tommorrow. I already have a preorder for two Player's Guides. I've been a fan of Gamma World ever since I heard of it (1992), but never owned any of the products. I guess one could say I'm not a fan, but I have played Gamma World, more than I've played any other setting (not counting DnD). When I first heard the news that White Wolf would be publishing Gamma World D20, I fell out of chair laughing hysterically. Only 14.5 hours left till I can pick up my books! YES!

Overall I very much like this and I look forward to the upcoming releases. This definitely captures the feel of previous editions of Gamma World, though a lot of teh funny has been scaled back (thankfully). It is a dark and gritty world, but it is also a fantastic world. Another cool thing is that because of the way it was designed, it looks like you'll be able to port in as much or as little of the Darwin's World material.

We hope GW players will consider checking out Darwin’s World for supplemental Post Apocalyptic material. Most people that have seen both say they complement each other pretty well (and they are both based on d20 modern so that helps with porting).

Also, we have James Maliszewski, co-author of ”GW: Out of the Vaults” working on a series of sit based supplements loosely based in Darwin’s World but designed to be plugged into your favorites PA setting.

Between GW and DW game masters should have a fair amount of support material. It’s good to be a PA gamer right now. :)

I got the GWPHB in the mail today. This book is even better than I expected. The first two chapters alone really set the mood for the setting. So far my only complaint is the lack of level adjustments for some of the monsters (who advance by character class). Something to seriously consider adding in the Mutants & Machines book. I'm still digging through it, but it will definitely get some good hard use... :D

As a long-time, hard-core Gamma World fanboy, let me say that Darwin's World kicks-ass too.

I'm so excited to have the new Gamma World book today, but I find as I look through it, that I'm comparing it to the excellent Darwin's World's D20 Modern implementation as well as all previous versions of Gamma World.

Of course, I've only had hours to look at the new GW, and have had quite some time to search the nooks and crannies of DW 2nd edition, but from what I've seen so far, I believe there will be many things I'll use from Darwin's instead of from the new Gamma. Not because the new Gamma stuff is inadequate, but just a personal taste thing where a lot of Darwin's resonates with how I've ran Gamma World campaigns in the past.

Sword and Sorcery has official licensing from HasbrWoTsr, so of course they get to use the cool critters, weapons, alliances, etc from the rich history of GW that all us old-timers know and love. It's great to have D20 stats (that I didn't have to convert myself) for all the classic GW stuff.

Of course there are some little Darwin's World things I dislike (as with any GM and any sytem), but overall I'm so pleased that I'll purchase pretty much any and every thing they put out for DW 2nd edition.

Hell, I'm a Gamma World fanboy...so of course my PA campaign will wind up being a house-rule Franken-System with stuff from the now 5 versions of Gamma World, plus the Alternity GW book, plus Omega World, plus Darwin's World, plus TMNT After the Bomb, and on and on and on. :)

Based on the fine quality Gamma World D20 Modern Player's Handbook I hold in my hand, I eagerly await Sword and Sorcery's Gamma World GM Guide, Mutants and Machines, Out of the Vaults, etc.

I also eagerly await print versions of Darwin's World 2nd Edition Hardcover, Metal Gods, and the Foundationists.

It's true. Ignore me. (Not literally. Hey--hands off the button!)

Nice to meet you, PosterBoy, and thanks for the heads-up on DW. I'll give it a looksee.

Man...I need a more explicative sig... ;)
