D20 Klingons?

If it's like Prime Directive d20 (and I would assume it is, since it's a supplement for it), it's not for d20 modern, but might have some conversion rules

They reap the benefits of believing in the IP when nobody else did -- and deservedly so in my opinion.

Makes me wonder what IP around nowadays that's not too well known will be worth buckets down the line.

Actually, yeah, how is it they are using Star Trek IP???
They have severely limited use. The agreement is actually based strictly part of TOS and the Trek Technical Manual by Franz Joseph.

SFB/PD cannot use:
Captain Kirk
Mr. Spock
Scotty (the engineer)
Dr. McCoy (the ship's doctor)
Stuff from TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT
And anything deemed off-limit by Paramount.

Call it an alternate universe of Star Trek.

So they got a license when ST was dead, and now they can still use it to put out this material? Wow.
Yeah, but how many of you new-school roleplayers would be willing to play a Not-Exactly Star Trek game?

That's like playing Shadow Chasers and skipping the official Angel/Buffy RPG (complete with The Initiative).

Prime Directive is even stranger than that. These guys filled in a bunch of blanks in the Trek universe [and there were a lot of them back in the 70s, with only TOS and the cartoon and some novels to go on], much of which has been contradicted in the canon since. Then they rejiggered things to make it work better as an RPG [permanent away teams, and so forth]. And yeah...they can't say "Kirk" or "Spock" or even "Star Trek."

It is by far the weirdest IP situation I can think of.

If I wanted to run a Star Trek campaign and those games have good ame mechanics, frankly I don't care that the names Star Trek, Kirk, spock, etc. are mentioned or not.
