D20 Logo and the License

I have a question. Say I have developed a game using OGC, the game requires point based character creation and I really have to describe how to create a character to these specs. Will this violate the OGL if I generate a product with this material? Am I correct in assuming I can not use the license on such a product as well?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

I believe you can do that as an OGL product but not a d20 product. An OGL product allows you include your own character creation rules, while a D20 product requires that players use the PHB. I believe that was part of the reason the Everquest RPG is being released as an OGL product and not D20.
If I'm mistaken, I hope someone more experienced can correct or clarify...

If you are not going to slap the d20 logo on your product, you can include character creation and advancement rules. Just write them in your own words.

Of course, you cannot claim that your product is compatible with Dungeons & Dragons nor any product that carries the d20 logo ... without the publisher's permission.
