d20 mecha SRD pdf - anyone making one?

Hey all. We have PDF versions of all the SRDs to date. I was just wondering if anyone was engaged on doing one of the d20 Mecha SRD for the community.

(Yes, I know phil reed has one; that's not what I am talking about. I am talking about free-to-the-community sorts of things.)

I'm currently working on a MS eBook Reader version -- I want to be able to read it on my Pocket PC. I could probably port that to PDF pretty easily... won't be too pretty though.

I am now torn, however.

I'm one of those folks with an "anime islands in the sky" D&D campaign.

I've got mecha appearing in the world. I've had skyships for a while.

Airships by Bastion Press was, IMO, a pretty darn nice book for aerial vessels.

Now, I just need my mecha "Escaflowne" needs taken care of.

I had been working on my own rules set, but now the d20 Mecha book is out, and Doom Striders is on the mid-horizon.

SO, anyone care to guess which one will fit my needs?
Psion, any psychic-reviewer vibes you're feeling?

I printed off the Mecha SRD, but have not yet read through it. The book itself didn't exactly call to me. Is everything needed to use these mecha rules contained in the SRD?

I agree in that it didn't really call to me either. I just want some d20 material to read on my Pocket PC when I'm in irrelevant meetings at work.

It looks prety self-contained. The only exception is that you might need the Anime SRD (BESM?)

Well, I downloaded the d20 Mecha SRD, and I was hoping they would follow the same example as 3.5e SRD, especially when the file format they're using is Rich Text, so they CAN make different sized fonts for the headings. So far I managed to format chapter 1 in MSWord (DOC file).

But skimming through it, I find it to be self-contained, more of a plugins to any d20 System games (albeit it needs a bit more tweaking for d20 Modern ruleset). The trick however is implementing Mecha Point to an existing ruleset.

Need to read more if one can treat mecha as magic items in order to control how much to reward a character with a mecha or with upgrades to his existing mecha.

Nevertheless, I'm still going to pick up the $20 printed supplement.

the Mecha compendium includes such rules and you can find them in the Mecha SRD extreme (and the next printing of the mecha compendium will include mecha rules).

The Mecha Compendium was released by DP9 a few months back, well in advance of d20 Mecha. It's basically a catalog of different mecha for different genres and eras, showcasing what can be done with d20 Mecha. Among the mecha showcased are ones from DP9's own games, such as Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, and Gear Krieg.

It's a paperback with b/w interior, but it's very nice quality by all appearances (I still have to get a copy and go over it thoroughly...been waiting for d20 Mecha to come out first), which is to be expected from DP9.
