d20 mecha SRD pdf - anyone making one?

Has anyone had a chance to compare the SRD to the printed book? From Joe's review here on ENWorld, it looks to me like the book doesn't have much in it beyond the SRD's contents, other than some designer's notes and less-than-stellar examples.

Has anyone heard if DP9's Deluxe Mecha Compendium rules will be all of the rules from the SRD? If they are, it seems to me that, other than price, there is no real reason to buy d20 Mecha.

After looking over the SRD I had planned on buying d20 Mecha, but Joe's review pretty much put the kibosh on that.

Well, I have recently purchased d20 Mecha. For some reason, Mecha Compendium didn't call to me for fear that much time have lapsed between the release of DP9's supplement and the GOO's ruleset, and in those time the rules may have changed.

So anyone who possesses both d20 Mecha and Mecha Compendium, are there any discrepancies to the stats and rules between the two that we should be aware of? Will DP9 update their Mecha Compendium material to the final d20 Mecha ruleset for current owners?

Whoa, Arkham. That's a really nicely laid out PDF. Do you have permission to use that cover art? At any rate, you definitely should find someone to host that. Even if you end up having to slice off the cover, it is laid out really nice and the watermark is a nice touch.

Thank you much! The cover I got off GOO's website, and I assume that, since the PDF is being freely distributed for private use, there shouldn't be any IP issues. Too with the Evangelion watermark.

Just so you know, that's not safe to assume at all unless it is explicitly mentioned as being part of the license or another license (which I doubt.) Perhaps you can find someone with some free or cheap mecha art out there to slap on it.

Thanks for the input. I've temporarily removed the link and will probably be removing the watermark as well. I'll also be contacting GOO to see what they have to say on the matter. Don't want to step on anybody's toes.

One may use anything that is open content. That includes everything in either of the two SRDs that we've released plus the open content from our SAS d20 products. That does not include artwork, graphics, nor anything else claimed as product identity (see each individual product to learn what specifically is claimed as product identity). Use of product identity is a breach of the open gaming license and a breach of copyright law.

In short, the d20 Mecha cover is not open and may not be used for anything without written permission.

Please, however, feel free to use the open gaming content that we provide to the open source movement. We support open gaming and hope that people find a use for our open material.
