d20 Modern: A History

Cool, I was just trying to see if this had gotten to the level of, say mutants as in the X-men, or if its just like weekly world news sorta stuff with added facts.

It would be funny if it had made The Weekly world news a substantial player in the world of Journalism.

So will the players be skeptics themselves or will they wield the power.

I wanted to keep it easy, so I went with middle ground. Everyone knows it exists, but few have the power. I've also got this whole Campaign swimming around in my brain, and as this slowly progresses I'm hoping it all works out.

The players can be skeptics or can weld the power. Hopefully, I'll havea little of both. There are going to be 7 PCs so we have room for it all. Since most of the FX stuff can't be gained till level 3 I'm hoping to have a good bit of the players establishing their characters as seeking the power. I'm also going to have them not tell everyone if they are, I want it to be as much a surprise to the others as possible.

Predictions on the stock market through future seeing powers is illegal, but has yet to be successfully prosecuted.

There are no officialt units that have FX abilities.

And it was bound to happen sooner or later, right? It's a perk for getting 11,000 posts. I'll I had to do was become a community Supporter ;)

You're the first to notice and saw something though. :D

Doesn't this sound an awful lot like the X-Men?

And your PIA is remarkably similar to my PDA -- look at my thread in this forum! :)

There are similiarites with the X-Men. However, there isn't going to be any registration program, the governemnt is actually going to be doing a good job or promoting equal rights for everyone. It's the Media that's the problem.

I saw your thread, but haven't read it yet. I'm not surprised there are similiarities, my idea is by know means original.

The PIA is a newly formed agency, the brain child of Senator Donald Drake of Maryland. This time the organization is there for the people of FX abilities. however few believe this. The Media has given them the nick name Spook Squad and routinuely badmouths the ranking officials. So far few FXers have come out and made contact with them, so the PIA goes in look for them. Their job is to promote good relations between the FXers and the normal people as well as protecting them from each other. As a newly formed agency they are really going out blind and trying to fiogure out what works.

From what I've read, there isn't any way to detect extraordinary abilities. Thus, human nature being what it is, anyone who has exceptional success in their field of endeavor will be accused of using such abilities. Either they themselves will be thought to have them, or they will be thought to have others with such abilities in their service.

Well, people with FX abilites are obviously the best to detect and determine if the person is really an FX user. So, there will be prejudice and accusations against people because they do well, get lucky, whatever. Thanks.

Exactly, it would be cool if some of you are anti FXers and some of you are pro FXers. Also, if any of you are going to aim for a FX advanced class, I'm requesting you not tell anyone unless your character would tell their character. I want character and player knowledge to be as close to the same as we can get.

And you'll be getting a fex extra XP for printing out the SRD and characte sheets for people, thanks!! :D
