d20 modern campaign report

Greetings,

I can't wait to make my game, but I really want to study the book more.

What I would like to hear from you guys is campaign reports from some of you who already had a game session or two with d20M, and how well the system worked.

Did you know that there's a Story Hour forum? There are already 4 or so d20 Modern story hours there. To name a few: Shadowlight Chronicles; Drunk Southern Girls with Guns, Zombie Toddlers, and Bad Aliens; and a bunch more. This might be just what you're looking for.

"how well the system worked" isn't really a subject for the story hour. It's a subject for the d20 Modern forum, which doesn't currently exist, so d20 system games is probably the best place to ask.

OK...

I'm about ready to roll-up characters, but I'm bumping this one for d20M system first-hand experience input (it didn't really generate some the first time around).

Thanks for all replies.

well, a group of us (including Crothian and LrdApok) are going to be rolling up Modern PCs on Sunday for a every-other week game (which will more than likely be disrupted by the coming holidays - and the fact that the majority of our group (5 of 7 people) have birthdays in December or early January)

so if you want to trade information/comments/suggestions, i'd be up for it, Trainz! :)

Well, last night we rolled-up 3 of the 4 PC's...

One planed to be a boxer, and another his bodyguard. After creation, they
finally dropped their concepts and went for full military types both
*sigh*.... I won't hold a gruge for that beacuse A) non-lethal damage is
lame in D20 and, B) I intend to make this campaign pretty bloody, so they
will need all the firepower they can get.

The third one however, whent full-roleplaying on me: he created a failed
televangelist that had an affair with a senator's daughter, took dedicated
hero, and put his two highest stats in Cha and Wis.

His other choices included the following: Xtremer, Multiple personnality
disorder freak, Russian spy, Ninja nun, O.J. Simpson and Crocodile Hunter.
He made us laugh so hard with his impression of the Crocodile hunter with
respect to goblins and kobolds that I almost let him get away with it. :D

We had 6 of the 7 players create characters yesterday. They are all agents of the federal government and only one I think has a hard time fitting.

Criky, he's nawty! :p

as Crothain said, we created our PCs yesterday. one of the biggest discussed 'issues' in the group was Wealth (which was unnecessary because we're all Feds - our basic equipment was assigned to us)

i believe the average Wealth in the party of six people was 4, with the low being 1 after purchases, and the high was 12 (me - after taking the doctor starting occupation and rolling an 8 for the starting Wealth)

because the PCs Wealth modifiers were so low, purchase DCs were a hot topic -- did you have the same issues Trainz?
