d20 Modern Fantasy

I seem to recall there're a couple of conversions of standard d20 modern into a more fantasy type game, I just can't remember where they are. An idea is percolating in my head for a low-magic, grim-n-gritty (as in the system) game that I think d20 modern would work well for, if I can figure out alternative professions and such.

As it happens, we've just released a product that does exactly that. We've taken a few liberties with the D20M original base, but have got what we feel is a great dark fantasy system which stays true to the feel of the mechanics of D20 Modern whilst being both usable without D20 Modern and taking into account the points of fantasy games that D&D itself does well.

There's also a five-star review of this available here.

Please note that whilst we do present our own game world you can, if you desire, use the basics of the mechanics and build your own dark fantasy world with the DarkLore system. There are notes throughout to help with this kind of conversion.

Ooo, shiny. For five bucks, definitely picking that one up.

I seem to recall there are some free ones, too, though. Can't recall the names... might've just been something basic like Modern Fantasy, I can't recall.

Well, there's always the WotC product Urban Arcana, which I'm not too keen on, since it makes magic too common, and sort of scraps the real world. I prefer to have my modern magic to be secretive, so that most people don't know of it.

I've got my own setting that I'm working toward publishing. Writing a setting takes a long time for one person, but you can see the setting at work in the "High Fantasy - Savannah Knights" storyhour. Link in my .sig.

I just purchased Darklore. It sounds great, and all the money goes to Enworld to boot. I may not post alot, but I do use Enworld a lot. On top of that, this is my first PDF purchase!

One free offering we've mentioned on this theme before is the preview for the DarkLore Campaign Primer. You can download it here.
