The more I look at D20 Modern, the more I think it would be a great system to use for a D20 future earth post-apocalyptic game in the style of Rifts or Fallout. I've got some ideas already, so I'm going to bounce them off you guys to get some feedback. Here goes...

I'd use the D20 Modern rules, with a few house that I won't go into here.
All basic classes and advanced classes (incuding the "special" settings adv. classes) would be available. This would emulate most Rifts OCCs.
A Ranger/Scout-based advanced class would be created to cover the "Wilderness Scout" idea, and a Bounty Hunter-based advanced class would be created to cover the "Headhunter".
Genetically and Chemically enhanced characters could be created using templates like the Moreaus...
New equipment, armor and weapons would need to be statted... Lasers, Ion Cannons, Power Armor, Hovervehicles, and Cybernetics, for example. Many of these could be adapted from D20:SW.
Most "aliens", "mutants" and/or "creatures from other dimensions" could be taken directly from D20Modern or Monster Manual creatures.
