d20 Modern supplements from WotC: wish list / predictions

JPL

Adventurer
I'm limiting my speculation to:

a. Official WotC books...not because 3rd party publishers aren't great or anything...just 'cause I'm wondering what the big guy is up to.

b. Products that I'd like to see and that actually seem like a good idea for WotC [i.e., gonna sell some books + good for the game]

c. No licensed products. I just don't see it happening. Too many recent flameouts of big licenses.

So...

d20 Espionage
They've got that IP from Top Secret S.I. sitting around, and besides, a little healthy competition for Spycraft is a good thing.

d20 Military
Already nicely done by Vig, and there's a Spycraft 1.0 supp that's probably good, too. Again, the more the merrier.

d20 Martial Arts
Again, Vig has already done it well, as have the Game Mechanics. If WotC had some sense, they'd just buy Blood & Fists, get the boys from Udon to draw some nice ninja art, and print it.

d20 Crimebusters
Not the old-school TSR version...a sourcebook for all manner of urban cops-v-robbers fun.

d20 Modern Player's Companion
General character options kinda thing.

Both of these would be good ideas, since AEGs Spycraft game is (I believe) dead in the water. A player's companion would be useful.

Plus, I'd like to see a d20 Time Travel sourcebook that would give rules and technology on moving characters back and forth through d20 Past, d20 Modern, and d20 Future campaigns.

Wrong. No announcement is no announcement. Unofficially, however, it is most certainly not dead :)

*slightly OT*

And I would be remiss if I didn't plug that this book is coming for the aforementioned not-dead game :) Ten Thousands Bullets is its name, and you should be seeing it next spring.

My apologies, but I had to slip that in. If WotC did something similar, I would buy their version too :)

I'd like to see a D20 Crime and Punishment book. I wonder how many GMs scratch their heads over arrest procedures, or rules on "police heat" or the likelihood of getting your bags sniffed at an airport.

I'd like to see it come with a sample adventure and at least a few of the important villains not using some new and unfamiliar Advanced Class, thanks.

Hey JPL, I notice you make no mention of

EPIC MODERN

Wouldn't that COOL? Epic rules adapted for the d20 Modern game? Wow, what a great concept! Somebody should publish that as a d20 Mini-Game!

What? What? I'm just saying.

Continuing OT...

Mr. Flagg, Will you guarantee Ten Thousand Bullets will be available in 2006??? You know some of us what to BUY a copy. Especially before our big announcement of .... Just wait and see.

I heartily endorse this product and/or service.

d20 Time Travel is a good idea...I wouldn't mind an update of Alternity's Tangents supplement, either. Might be able to combine the two. I ran a d20 Modern one-shot using the adventure from Tangents a year or so back, and it went over quite nicely.

Just to reinforce the notion, this bit from Patrick Kapera:

I'm still on walkabout but I thought I'd pop in and assure everyone that Spycraft is alive and well, and that news is currently ambling down the pipe. It'll still be a little while before anything is said, as this is a turbulent time for AEG, but you have my personal guarantee that everything in our power is being done to gather relevant details and get you the information you need. Despite my leave, I am still deeply entrenched in the brand, with my finger directly on its very healthy pulse.

Being a big fan of Call of Cthulhu and horror gaming in general, I'd like to see a Shadowchasers campaign book in the manner of Urban Arcana. It could have official rules for Fear and Horror, perhaps adapted from the Ravenloft books. It could also contain an expanded description of the realm of Shadow, how its inhabitants get here, and how they conceal themselves from the majority of the population.
