D20 Modern - What sets it apart?

BTW, if you want a system for gritty modern day roleplaying, you can also adapt the CoC rules easily enough by throwing out the supernatural stuff - not necessarily the sanity rules.
on a personal note, i don't want "gritty realism" for modern age campaigns -- i want cinematic action (so no CoC for me) that isn't aimed specifically at the super-spy/espionage genre (so no Spycraft). i'm really looking forward to d20 Modern.

i love the idea of the generic ability-based classes. they don't make any assumptions on what kind of campaign i want to run, and are easily portable to just about any setting imaginable (i could even see running a fantasy campaign with them, if you are unhappy with D&D's more rigidly defined archetypal classes).
