d20 Past art gallery up...

Hmm looks very pulpy. That can't be a bad thing. ;)

To be honest I have pretty low expectations of this book. It will be extremely difficult to cover that much ground in anything resembling a complete manner. So anything even remotely interesting will just be gravy to me.

Well, I'm lovin' the artwork, and the new classes are more or less what I would have expected. Definitely getting more and more excited by this. I have a lot of faith in James Wyatt to make the most of those 96 pages. I guess we'll see next week...

Here's a list of the new classes in d20 Past as implied by the artwork:

Explorer
Musketeer
Shaman
Sorcerer
Frontier Marshal
Mesmerist
Spiritualist
Flying Ace
Gangster
Scientist

Wow!

I really liked that art gallery! The quality of a lot of those pictures were great! I really liked the pirateship, and the musketeer, and the steamtank bad guy at the end... and a lot more.

In fact, I'm gonna go over there again!

Cheers!

Ah... I get it!

It's not d20 Past... It's d20 PULP!

So that the product can synergistically enhance Eberron by moving it into a new age. Wizards is becoming quite... what's the word... uninspired.

I figured pulp would be emphasized because

A. WotC already had a well-received d20 Modern adaptation for the Pulp Heroes game in Polyhedron.

B. Action pulps are a lot like modern action movies, and

C. Pulp is a popular gaming genre.

I doubt Eberron had anything to do with it.

Also...looks to me like pirates/swashbucklers, Victorian horror, and pulp/cliffhangers are equally represented.

But perhaps you are wise in the ways of marketing, or know the evil that lurks in the hearts of men, or whatever.
