If this books gives a good set of basic tools for handling different eras with the d20 Modern rules, then I am content.

Thus my cautious optimism.

And I hope that some other designers take this material and build upon upon it [betcha it ends up in the SRD in short order], because each era we're talking about could easily support a book of its own [and a much bigger book than this].

Me too - if someone can do for the Great War or Colonial America or the Napoleanic Wars what Dog House Rules did for the Wild West, I'd be one happy gamer!

Any idea when the release date is for D20Past?
Usually when they put up these articles, the book is about to be released in a week or two, but Amazon.com has it listed as April 16th.

Even they don't miss release dates that badly.

As far as Napoleonics goes, I've been considering doing a PDF release based on the D20 Napoleonic Fantasy setting I worked up for an RPGnet column 4 years ago, but I've never quite been sure about the sale-ability of it.

Personally, I'd buy any historical game that is done as well as Skull and Bones.

And it would be fairly easy to become the top Napoleonic RPG.

With that said...

This is an add-on to d20 Modern, right? Meaning it requires d20 Modern? Meaning that there's nothing wrong with the mage, acolyte and occultist classes in d20 Modern, and the pages of essentially D&D monsters?
