- WWII - I've got a couple of WWII supplements, but they were all too magic heavy or didn't make sense. I've kludged some rules out of all these sources, but I'd like to see one book covering the whole darn war.
Yeah, it took me several months but after stealing bits from pretty much every WWII RPG source I could find and then writing my own sections for what I couldnt find that satisfied me (like actual rules for suppressive fire that worked, and tank stats/rules that weren't completely dorked up one way or another) our group has a good working set. It's still a bit of a kludge in places here and there, and has been refined over the last year so that it resembles it's original influences less and less, but it works for us. Watching every WWII movie I owned/could rent during that time period helped a lot also

.
It would be nice to have a decent one-stop source for d20 Modern and WWII, but I have come to the conclusion that no one WWII RPG is going to remotely satisfy even the majority of gamers, because of the dearth of research and depth that has to go into it. Plus, most of the folks that are into WWII are into the authenticity of the experience in some manner or perception, and it's hard to provide versimilitude for that wide array of folks.
So, in a way, I'm almost glad that d20 Past isnt going to try to give it full treatment, because I'm almost sure I would have been just as dissatisfied with it as I have most others

. Okay, that's not really fair... I will be checking it out before I make any blanket statements, but just say for now I'm not getting my hopes up too high.
