Hmmmm. I guess that does cover the most popular eras. Though like Chuck, I'm surprised they missed WW2 (though that really needs a big book of it's own)

Granted none of it is official, but how many WW2 d20 games do we need? V for Victory, Hell on Earth, Weird War Two, 1948 ....

WWII, and possibly some pulpy stuff, were the only two bits I was interested in. I've seen Adamant's pulp products, and I think I'd probably go that way over d20 past, and WWII has been almost completely cut! What's up with that?

I'm not so keen on d20 Past. I love playing modern and fantasy, but past I'm not so sure about, especially not the Victorian era. It just makes me think of rubbish costume dramas. I like the idea of a historical d20 game, with the rules to play Roman, Celtic/Iron Age and Mongol/Chinese Empire games, but Victorian through WWII doesn't excite me too much.

For historical games get From Stone to Steel by Monkey God

As for Victorian games, you have obviously never played in one of Rel's Sky Galleons of Mars game or you'd be singing a different tune. ;)

96 pages. What did you expect?

I guess I expected more than 96 pages, for starters. That's not much room for a book that promised to fill in the gaps between the middle ages and the modern era.

Maybe it was Rel, maybe not, but I was sold on the Victorian Period a while back by a poster on ENWorld who reminded me that Victorian Era stories also include the Wild West, British Colonization, the Wold Newton stories, Gothic Horror, and even World War I!

But Rel certainly took Space:1889 by the cover, squeezed it like an orange straight into a d20 Modern book, and made it his own. :) No matter how often I do it, it still never fails to get someone's attention when I say the words, "defrocked spanish nun turned pirate." :)

Coming soon in PDF from Highmoon Media Productions

Couldn't let that pass by. :)

As for d20 Past, I'm still looking forward to it, especially the part where it gets added to the MSRD and we can then go wild filling in all the gaps (and boy, are there gaps!).

I've used From Stone to Steel as a supplement for d20 Modern. It's a great resource for detailing private weapon collections and museum exhibits.

Not to mention arming those pesky vampires or mummies the PCs accidentally awake and unleash.... :]

That's exactly what I was thinking. Just 96 pages?

First, thanks for posting the contents!

Second, it's just as I feared. Too few pages led to not covering very much and, even worse, covering eras that are well covered elsewhere. Pulp? I love it, but it's been done and done well all over tarnation. What makes Wizards think they can do it in 20 pages?

Third, I second looking forward to the SRD additions and all the new efforts to create historical RPGs that will inevitable result.

In the meanwhile, my 17th century Grim Tales game is taking concrete shape...
