Well, I'm certainly glad I took the time to pull my comments together then. ;)
I enjoyed reading your comments, and I am now undecided as to whether to buy the book for $8 or not (so you've probably cost them at least one sale :) )

I am also very impressed with your knowledge of animal powered vehicles.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to put d20 Past on the d20 Modern SRD? If I won't spend $8 (plus p&p to the UK) I still have no objection to getting it for nothing.

I wouldn’t attempt to speak for anyone else’s expectations, but here’s a rough idea of what I was hoping to see from d20 Past: <...>Snipped a lot<...>
I don't know how much you are paid per hour of writing, but there is obviously more than 8$ of words in this post! :p ;)

If you've read the book and have thoughts on it, either way, add them to the old review database.
I thought about that, but a lot of my comments are more, "Shoulda done this. Shoulda done that," which doesn't really make for a review so much as me complaining about what an insanely great Modern history book WotC could have produced, if, y'know, I was in charge... ;)

I'm playing in a modern game set in 1879 right now and have gotten *so* much use out of this book. The starting occupations alone would have been worth my $8, but I already own it.

Incredibly useful little book (at least for the game I am currently playing in) *and* it's attractive. :)

D20 Past is worth the $8 and then some, IMO. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't handle the total scope of the "past" very well, but I enjoyed what was offered. Due to Urban Arcana selling very well, I think WotC took that to mena that people would enjoy a book that offers a Past viewpoint with plenty of magic tossed in. More coud have been done with it, but I wasn't expecting a whole lot from a 96 page softcover.

Hopefully, someday in the future they'll try again with a hardcover book along the lines of D20 Future. I doubt they will, but maybe The Game Mechanics or Ronin Arts would be willing to tackle it.
