Yes, boys and girls!

The "d20 Past" entry in the product release schedule is back, take a look!

I guess this means we can feel rather assured of it's existens if we doubted the first time...? :)

Catalog Entry at wizards!

The catalog entry at wizards.com has been updated with a description for d20 Past -

This new rules supplement provides everything players and gamemasters need to participate in adventures in the time period between the Renaissance and World War II, including new character options and rules for early modern firearms. It begins with an exploration of the historical period between 1450 and 1950, then provides rules for creating characters and campaigns that blend realism and fantasy. d20 Past also presents alternative campaign models, along with all the rules needed to play swashbuckling pirate adventures, Victorian horror investigations, thrilling Pulp Era escapades, and more, including three ready-to-play campaign modules.

It also says it will be 96 pages, $19.95 cover price, and be out in March of 2005.

Does this seem a little bit much for a 96 page supplement? Rennaisance through WWII, including Pulp adventure, victorian horror, AND pirates? (I assume that the "three ready-to-play campaign modules will be the aforementioned "Pulp Era escapades, Victorian horror investigations, and swashbuckling pirate adventures", but I could be wrong).

96 pages is the same size as the 3.0 "splat books" (Tome & Blood, Sword & Fist, etc.). Three full "campaign modules" plus the equipment & weapons for 500 years of history, plus "new character options" (whatever that might mean) - it'll be a tightly packed 96 pages I would think.

Oh yes! YES YES YES YES YES!!! Victorian Horror using d20 Modern rules!

James Wyatt did excellent work in support of the old Masque of the Red Death campaign world from TSR/WotC in DRAGON and DUNGEON magazines. And since I refuse to buy anything Arthaus puts out anymore after they royally flubbed up the 3.5 rules in the Ravenloft updates, I can't wait to see what he's cooked up here!

Well, you've got a point there (I mean about James Wyatt loving the setting; I haven't even looked at the Ravenloft updates)... alright, I'll give d20 Past a fair look.

It does. I suspect that it's going to be longer, if only because WotC isn't in the business of 96-page paperback splats anymore. I'm betting it's really a 224pp hardcover and this is just an early-in-the-process error.

Could be interesting, but 96 pages... that seems way too short to put out any good results. I would most definatley love running a civil war era historical campaign, that would be a blast.

so if d20 Past is only going back to 1450, is there going to be another supplement for earlier times? ;)

d20 Paster?

d20 Even More Past?

224pp, hardcover... yeah, that'd be nice. :D Victorian age or swashbuckling aren't my big favourites but I'm very happy it's said to start with Renaissance/1450. I've grown quite fond of that period lately.

Anyway, I'm hoping it won't be gear too much against the FX side of things... and I'd really be devestated by 20 pages of historical monsters.
