No problem :), just remember to send me any notes about odd things and bugs in the system when (and if) you find them :D
When you changed from the yellowish background to the black one that we use now, the color formatting in a lot of the reviews went all screwy and impossible to read. In fact, of the three colors you offer, only one is legible against that background. I think we need something different for highlighting -- like white, gold and green, or something like that. The red and blue are useless.

Ok, all joking aside..

I pay attention to Nightfall's reviews. He writes thorough reviews and is the first to point out failings in SL products.

NF and I may be at odds at times, but I value his reviews. When I consider an SL product- his are the reviews I turn to get a solid understanding of what is in the book and what I might want from it.

Thank you Furn. I do appreciate that. Today felt like "Bash the Sage" day but at least I know I'm appreciated for my thoroughness. I don't hold back when I feel a product ISN'T worthy of the S&SS logo. Btw, look for my review of Ratmen and Serpent. It should give you an idea of the differences in how I do reviews.

A cursory examination of the d20 Reviews section will demonstrate that Nightfall has given 4 stars to the majority of Scarred Lands products (6 products), and 5 stars to only three products. Furthermore, he has ranked products from two other publishers higher than the majority of Scarred Lands products (Interludes: Brief Expeditions to Bluffside, and Death in Freeport). While his enthusiasm for the setting certainly cannot be disputed.. you're just wrong here.

And if the day comes where I'm writing SL products, I CERTAINLY won't review any I've worked on OR helped with. As it stands though, I'm merely just going through my collection of Scarred Lands stuff. After that, I'll be doing other products from OTHER companies.

When judging a review, don't just judge what is written but look at what else has been reviewed by that person. Can find some interesting things, specially if someone has only reviewed products by a specific company and they were all 5/5

Right and you can plainly see that not ALL of them are 5 out of 5.

Nightfall hun, I was not refering to you. I don't have a problem with your review. Was just talking of reviews in general.

I don't understand....the reviewer in question clearly likes RttToEE. He said right at the beginning that he wasn't going to cover aspects of the adventure that had alread been covered. I find it useful that he mentions montecook.com. It lets you know where he's coming from.

So I have appreciated the reviews and while I do not take them at face value, I still think they have been helpful. Even the ones that are obviously gushing (or harsh) tell me something about the product I could not get at the store. [/B]

yah i have to agree. every review is useful as long as it is outside the realm of "this sucks." or "this is great." If someone takes the time to explain thier thoughtprocess i get something out of every review.

No one pays any attention to them either. Seriously, we might as well just apply an automatic '5' review to everything related to the Scared Lands, and save you a lot of trouble.

I think it's legitimate to be biased to a product line or author or whatever. ¿What's wrong with it? Reviews are always subjective, by definition. They are opinions on a product. And about the ratings, I don't care about them. I read the reviews and draw my own conclusions about the product. No point at thinking "this product is good because it has three 5s".
