d20 Stats for a Headless Horseman

Wasn't the headless horseman in the original short story a prank? So wouldn't it be a regular guy with a Disguise skill? (Which is funny in its own way, "He's immune to Turning! My God is powerless against this fiend!" I've always enjoyed playing panicky priests.)
Unclear. There are some hints to that fact, i.e. that Katrina van Tassel seems to get a knowing smirk on her face when folks gossip about the fate of Ichabod, but that's about it really.

For American gamers, the Northern Crown DM book is packed full of archetypal magic, PrCs and monsters that will likely be useful in many games, even those not set in a fantasy colonial America. Both books are great products and well worth checking out.

Doug, I hope you consider selling future books POD through Lulu.

Cool, thanks!

No problem.

For something in the CR 6-12 range, I'd probably stat him up as a formerly-human Rogue 3/Fighter 4ish with ranks in Ride and the Mounted Combat and Ride-by Attack feats. Stick him on a Fiendish (or skeletal) Warhorse.

For a nastier version, make him a Blackguard and/or put him on a Nightmare.
