D20 Superheroes: what to buy?

Yet another vote for Deeds Not Words!

None of my players were interested in playing a superhero game, d20 based or not, they're all "hardcore" D&Dist. I showed a few of them Deeds Not Words, and they got excited, started telling the others, and now people are downloading it and asking when I'm starting the campaign!

Scott Lynch, the author, just *nails* it with DNW and he's got a strong grasp of d20 as well. Highly recommended!

Let me cast a vote for Vigilance - a supers game that unlike some others, stays true to what I feel is the spirit of d20 while being flexible enough to cover all supers situations I could want.

How many people here actually own a copy of more than one of these games? It's kind of hard to trust the opinion of someone if they say that they love a certain book but have never read any of the competition.

DNW!

I'm gonna have to recommend Deeds Not Words for Superhero games.

Lets see, I got Deeds Not Words over there, right next to Heroes Unlimited (both editions), Hero, Vigilance, & a friend let me read his FC2F (didn't enjoy it too much). I read over Silver Age Sentinels D20 at my not-so-local game store (took about a hour and a half and enduring quite a few nasty looks) and decided to put it back on the shelf. Out of all of those, I love pouring over every page of Deeds Not Words. I am however waiting anxiously to read and try out Mutants & Masterminds.

I own:
Deeds Not Words
Four Color To Fantasy
SAS D20 System

And, on the non-D20 side..
Champions (every edition)
SAS Tri-Stat
Villains&Vigilantes (first and second editions)
Superworld
Supergame (I think...I need to check my files)
Golden Heroes
GURPS Supers (first and second editions)
That Palladium one, damn, my mind is going, Dave...
Enforcers
Heroes&Heroines (I think...)
Aberrant
Godlike

Oh, any probably more that I've forgotten about. One of these decades, I have to catalog my gaming collection.

I wanna do Superheroes in D20 and I've heard of a coupla systems to do so, but I don't know what to get. I want to be able to have obnoxiously powerful characters. Alot of Flexibilitywould be nice too. What can one get for that? Thanx for the help.

Dude.... Vigilance Absolute Power.
Will be on the shelves of Borders and other stores next month... It's the system to have!
Having looked at many of the others, and talking to an old time supers fan (close to 20 years for him..) Vigilance is the system. I'm a big fan of it, myself, and I highly recommend it.
