D20 system to play Firefly?

I'm currently playing in a Firefly game that uses D20 Modern, D20 Future, and Sidewinder: Recoiled, and it's been working pretty well. The notable hiccups we've seen thus far: Piloting is very, very expensive to take, something you'll want to house rule away if you want people to be able to fly the shuttles easily. Otherwise you end up with one pilot and everyone else in danger of doing significant property damage in case they try to land anything. The second one is the wealth system. It works great when you're playing a game where money is abstracted and rarely dealt with; this is not really true in a Firefly game, where the amount of money available to the ship, how much you make, and how much you can earn become central to any game set in the middle of smuggling or freight operations. Also, since Aid Another on wealth checks results in both parties losing a point of wealth (as opposed to single checks just losing one), it's far more advantageous to the ship as a whole to never pool resources using aid another.

Good to know it's working for you, Michelle. As this will be a one shot game, I can hand wave the money thing. "You need money. Go do a job." But I hear you on the pilot thing. That's why Wash is the man.
