d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20. Have any other numbered dice ever been made?

A friend has a 2d6...yep, it is a larger plexi d6 with a smaller d6 inside, quite funny. He has also a d100 (golfball size) and a gumball with a d20 inside...not so good as a dice, but bounces around if thrown ;)

d3 are quite known, but I'm the only one in the group who owns a d3 (a d6 with two 1s, 2s, 3s).

In some gamer's shop I've seen d2s.

Does anyone know if there are any d5 ,7 etc that aren't just long prisms? Die like d16s or d24s.
The d7 is like a wagon wheel with 2 big flat sides labled 6 and 7 and 5 sides on the round part of the wheel. I don't think it is very true.

The d5 I'm told is a pyramid-like shape. I haven't seen one yet.

just curious is anyone else uses the same method for rolling percentiles as I do. I roll 1d10 and 1d20.
Yeah. I do that sometimes. 'Cept the d20 involved is marked 0 to 9 twice, with little plus signs next to half of them.

The only non-prismatic (either truncated or tapered) d5 that I know is the skull-shaped one. There are also d10's numbered 1 to 5 twice.

There's a pic of a pair of the cranial d5's and a d10 numbered 1 to 5 twice in my photo album at the Dice Maniacs' Club. Click on the 4th from last thumb on this page: http://groups.msn.com/DiceManiacsClubakaTheRandomFandom/alexandersdice.msnw?Page=2

AFAIK all d7's, d9's etc are basically prismatic.

I don't know why it took them 30 years, but Wizards is coming out with a new kind of percentile dice that you can simply add up (no exception on the 00 0 being 100)

Die 1 is numbered 1-10 (also getting rid of the silly confusion for new players who think they rolled a 0)

Die 2 is numbered 00-90.

00 + 1 = 1
90 + 10 = 100

Much better. I thought of this ages ago...

How do you get a 90? 80+10? And you can't get 00 can you? It took me this long to work it out :o .

PhD (or DPhil when I'm feeling pedantic :p )

Are you going to the RPG con in west London on the last Sat in August? If so, I can bring a few of my more unusual dice for you to see. Please let me know.
