d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20. Have any other numbered dice ever been made?

Sorry, you're about 2 decades too late. "Electronic dice wands" were all the rage in the early '80s. Haven't seen one in at least a decade, however. Most people seem to have either figured out that actual dice are easier, or just use their PDA. And there are some really great PDA-based software dice rollers, too.
I had one of those when I was in middle school. They used to advertise them in the back of Dragon magazine. It's too bad that it was far from random, mine used to be biased toward 4, no matter what # die you were rolling. :( I have no idea what ever happened to it.

I have seen a d7 and a d34 (or a similar odd number, but I think it was 34; for some weird game, I don't remember, which actually used that :)), and of course the more common d30 and d100 (single die) so far.

Life to you, Dead. And everlasting glory.

I own a D30, and a D3 (average dice), my mate owns a D100. I have never seen any other unusual dice numbers. I have seen the oddly shaped dice, the sort of barrel shaped and strange.

Yours Niko

At advancinghordes.com they have D3's D5's D7's D16's D24's D30's D100's, in addition to the usual suspects. These are not "barrel" or "crystal" shaped dice, and have all been tested for randomness.

Here is a direct link to the dice (singles and pairs)page: Advancing Hordes Dice & Miniatures: Single dice

Hope this helps!

Troll Lord Games' "Troll Bones" dice game has some unusual dice in it.

They are all six-sided dice (there are 3), but one is numbered 2,4,6,8,10,12, and another is numbered 1,3,5,7,9,11, and the last dice is "troll prime numbers", and has something really screwy (I'm making these up, I can't remember the actual numbers) like 1,3,6,7,9,10 on it.

The game itself is kind of silly, but the dice are kind of novel.

D30!!!! Favorite Die ever!!!! I'm not really sure why either. I don't even have one anymore though. :( It got stolen when my car was stolen a few years back... Coincidently the game that used it a lot was also stolen that someone already mentioned. TALES FROM THE FLOATING VAGABOND!!!! :-D that game rocked. Nothing like a game that let's you "Swing nasty pointy thing with pinache"

I also have one of those weird d20s numbers 0 to 9 and then negative 0 to 9

Have no idea what it's for though...

As this thread has been revived, I'd like to take the opportunity to mention that there's a 4-page feature on my collection of dice in the October issue (number 87) of Collect it! magazine. :)

The October issue is available now from UK newsagents such as W H Smith. It's also available by post anywhere in the world directly from the publishers, Essential Publishing.

If you really can't get it by either of these methods, drop me an e-mail at afsimkin@hotmail.com with "dice" in the subject line.

I've got an old d30 that's been with me for many years. I primarily use it together with a d12 to generate birthdates for those players that can't or don't want to pick a day. My players really like the d30 though. Almost every gaming session, one of them is playing with it. It's also rather large, so it makes a reassuring sound when you roll it. :)

Cheers,
Meadred
