Daggerspell Stance: Need some balance/breaking advice.

Hey everyone

In the Spell Compendium, there is a spell called Daggerspell stance. It's a 2nd lvl, swift action type spell that grants bonuses when the character wields daggers.

Specifically, it gives a +2 to hit and damage when full attacking with a dagger in each hand. If you fight defensively this way, you get SR that equals 5 + caster level. If you use the total defense action, you get the SR and DR 5/magic.

Ok, so my question is: what do you think about letting this spell work with weapons other than daggers? I'm not talking about any weapon, I'm not trying to pull a fast one and use double greatswords or any other sick combination of weapons, but what about kukris? Or other exotic, light "dagger-like" weapons?

Would it be that unbalanced to let similar things work? Or do you think the spell is only viable if you use daggers

Thanks

The point of the spell is to tie-in with a specific organization and its prestige classes (Complete Adventurer), so the restriction is IMO flavor more than balance. I think for the spell to be balanced and make sense it should act only if the caster is using a pair of the same light melee weapon, but if someone wanted a version for kukris or punching daggers or something I don't see that as being a big problem.
